Oklahoma City to Tucumcari, NM

Another day on Route 66 sort of…

Leaving Okalhoma City we tried to visit the memorial at the Federal building but because it was raining heavly. All we could do was drive around it, a disappointment.
Back on the road again. Moving the plains and brush land of Oklahoma to the dry flat, I mean really flat an dry plains of the Texas pan handle, to the desert lands of New Mexico. We were chaced by rain most of the day with little opportunity to do much site seeing not that there was much to see. Another 6 hour day.
Did have a local color fix eating at the Lizard Lounge on the old road in Tucumcari. Great local color.
